The Texas Scientific Laboratory will soon offer tests for small molecules in blood and other samples, including vitamin D and thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones regulate metabolism, heart rate, body temperature, growth, muscle function, and brain development. Vitamin D regulates calcium absorption and levels, supporting bone health, muscle function, and reproductive health. Deficiency in vitamin D can cause rickets in children, osteoporosis in adults, muscle weakness, and increased infection risk. It also helps maintain estrogen and progesterone levels, crucial for menstrual cycles and pregnancy.
