Standard Oral Fluid Drugs of Abuse Test
Oral fluid, or saliva, is commonly used for testing prescription drugs and illicit substances. It is valuable for monitoring recent drug use in addiction treatment or verifying compliance with pain management protocols. Our Standard Oral Fluid Drugs of Abuse (DOA) Test identifies 15 biomarkers. Please review the list of detected biomarkers to confirm that the analytes of interest are included.
This test detects common drugs of abuse in both prescription medications and illicit substances by analyzing saliva samples. An immunoassay is utilized to screen oral fluid for 15 drug analytes across various drug classes. If the initial screening result indicates a presumptive positive, a quantitative/qualitative confirmation test using high-resolution liquid chromatography tandem mass spectroscopy (LC/MS/MS) assay is conducted to confirm the positive screens.
A positive result indicates that a drug or its metabolites were detected in the specimen.
A negative result signifies that the drug was either not detected in the specimen or was present below the detection threshold.
