Specimens can also be collected using appropriate urine or oral fluid collection containers. After labeling and sealing the specimen securely, place the transport tube into the original outer packaging supplied with the collection device. Ensure the specimen container is firmly closed to prevent leakage of urine or oral fluid, as leaky specimens may be returned to your agency by the shipping provider. For confirmation tests of specimens that have been tested using dip or cassette format devices, send only the collected specimen, not the device.
