Urine Syntheitic Cannabinoids Test

Synthetic cannabinoids are designer drugs classified as Schedule I under the U.S. Controlled Substances Act, which aim to replicate psychoactive effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) found in marijuana. These compounds have a higher affinity for brain receptors compared to marijuana, increasing their potency and potential risks. Side effects of synthetic cannabinoids may include hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, or psychotic symptoms, leading to severe health issues and potentially fatal outcomes. Reports suggest that synthetic cannabinoids can be addictive, with withdrawal symptoms observed after prolonged use. Common street names for synthetic cannabinoids include K2 and Spice. The screening test utilizes an immunoassay-based technique, with presumptive positive results confirmed by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectroscopy (LC/MS/MS). Urine drug test results at or above the cutoff are reported as positive, while results below the cutoff are negative. Quantitative values do not determine drug dosage due to extensive metabolism and excretion in the urine. The Urine Synthetic Cannabinoids Test detects 14 biomarkers.
